saropod leg. wow what a big crittor they were.

IMG_5557

terrorbird said to run down animals bigger than themselves, sorry guys I find this hard to believe, in fact I am more inclined to believe they ate fruit and small animals that could swallow whole. mans imagineation is wonderful and all but it should never replace logic and evidence.

this tree is grafted on what appeard to be a viburnum, the leaves at the bottom were bigger, more rough and oblong/elliptical. the leaves at the top are about 2 inches wide slight wider and same length wise. the bark is smooth and greyish, and I have tried and tried looking in my books on the net, it almost made me think of red bud then I looked again and it reminded me of a vine leaf possibly gooseberry or something else, any ideas? thanks.

plants at peak aug 2014

gardenatpeakaug2014 001

crape myrtle starting to bloom, late this year usually blooms july. but everything got a late start.

gardenatpeakaug2014 010

scarlet bean runner with pods growing up the crape myrtle whose most of the tops died except the bottom where it is regrowing, yea it did not die, yippee.

gardenatpeakaug2014 014

red crape starting to bloom, grew a bit bigger finally, hum does it need to be shocked into growing more during summer by being hit with a severe cold winter? makes one wonder.

gardenatpeakaug2014 017

my giant caladium (elephant ears) started off small then got big, very nice.

gardenatpeakaug2014 027

sweet joe pye weed did not get big, the ones in the fields growing wild didn’t either. must of been the severe cold or something from last winter. pretty nonetheless

gardenatpeakaug2014 037

gardenatpeakaug2014 042

goldflame honeysuckle, I had to do some serious pruning for all the dead branches it had but it was a hidden blessing because now they are cleaned up of their cluttered branches look and are more uniform and their flowering has been enhanced quite a bit. very pretty.

gardenatpeakaug2014 038

early summer a chickadee mom and dad raised a brood out of here, I would watch them bring them food, but the little guys were to far down in to stick their heads out, then when they were done a house wren took it and raised babies too. see the nest inside?

gardenatpeakaug2014 046

a passion for flowers much? the passionflowers are starting to bloom, also late usually in july they bloom but we all know why don’t we.

gardenatpeakaug2014 058

painted mountain corn, very pretty had to fence it the ground hogs thought I grew this for them,

gardenatpeakaug2014 064

variegated climbing hydrangea, the canes are said to get fifty feet but it will be a couple of years before I see flowers but if I see some climbing the leaves will satisfy me enough until the flowers are ready.

gardenatpeakaug2014 073

touch me nots, never in my life have I seen them so tall, they are taller then me and so thick like this, wow, my whole fence on this side is like that and the plant bed near the dish is like this too, wow, must of been all that rain. (jewelweed)

gardenatpeakaug2014 077

gardenatpeakaug2014 089

gardenatpeakaug2014 101

rosa rugosa rose hips

gardenatpeakaug2014 086

black eyed susans seeds must of clustered at the bottom of my side yard because look what happened? they all clusted and bloom together, while the area around them has nothing, very pretty, did not have the heart to mow them.

gardenatpeakaug2014 110

rosa rugosa topaz jewel, is yellow but look what happens when you photograph it with the sun shining brightly at your back into the flower, like a beacon or something, (mirror rose)

gardenatpeakaug2014 084

and now the golden rods blooming, on the hill next to all my black eyes susans painted daisy? and other flowrs that finally spread, I guess mowing it during the summer was a bad idea so this year I did not mow it,

gardenatpeakaug2014 081

my side hills (dry conditions here) full of blk eyed, painted daisy? golden rods yarrow, ironweed,

so what do you think these are not all my plants but awwww the wonderful springs (usually wonderful) summers and wonderful fall time of year where you have plants galore sunshine warmth energy until winter spoils the party.

plants resurrected

topazjewelrose 001

topaz jewel and yellow rugosa hybrid, some of the tops actually survived this really bad winter we had, the flower is lovly. starts off dark yellow and lightens from the sun and heat, to a light yellow wonder if when it gets cooler if it will darken again like my new dawn does it get pinker when cooler and whiter when hotter.  now I know they sent me the right rose.

topazjewelrose 019

new dawn coming back from the thick stem, glad I did not cut it all the way to the ground, the leaves are so shiny, it doesn’t have buds on it I am hoping it will wait a few more weeks to get more canes I have a trellis I made ready for them, and to try to reduce black spot I put weed block around it to keep the hortatunia back so there would be better air circulation.

topazjewelrose 015

anyone know what this flower is? it grew back in my wildflower patch I grew wher I had a lot of cosmos, now I have different flowers coming up.

topazjewelrose 017

anyone know what this is?

my butterfly bushes all died, my one crape myrtle died too, but the one next to the garage is barly coming back from the bottom of the trunk. bummer the trunk has some pretty patterns on it, I am using it as a trellis for scarlet bean runner edible beans and is ornamental too, this is just some of my plants all which survived except the butterfly bushes and one new dawn which I just bought last year and that crape myrtle.

This is my theropod, carnivorus, height about 10-20ft at shoulder, length average about 20 feet to 30 feet or so, biped, diet is of carrion, top speed probably based on way of movement, weight which is about 20,000 lbs give or take,, and  height I say 10 mph. Type, reptile, habitat tropical to subtropical,  teeth types, crushing, breaking, tearing. profile, surfboard straight, on two very enormous legs muscular and strong, bulky,  Since these guys are so heavy per foot and on two legs I think of them like humans very careful and slow moving, after all that head is about 20 ft off the ground and they cannot afford to fall or trip or get knocked over. their weight would shatter their bones even in a minor fall. Even a minor injury can be fatal, skin type, smooth, probably very colorful and why not, todays reptiles (especially lizards can be very colorful)have lots of color and textures and skin surface types from smooth to rough to horned etc.

my guy here is about full grown, and loves water and wet places especially when it is hot. possibly cold blooded with 3 chambered enormous heart, smallish brain with average size cortex, possibly binocular vision,  good sense of smell, possibly gave some parental care and protection, most likely as guard while baby eats what it can catch. It not known for sure whether they cared as birds do bringing food to their young, some evidence suggests some types of dinosaurs did drag food to them but that is not confirmed. The evidence is there but is open to interpretation as there are a lot of possible explanations for many of the physical evidences found, what ideas do you have as to how they looked, how they lived, how they moved and how they died?.

What killed off the prehistoric animals including the dinos? massive asteroid? there is evidence for such enormous objects hitting the earth and shattering and burning damage, some say volcanos, evidence of that exists especially in Siberia for extreme volcanic activity large enough to kill off most life, was it disease? Some are still trying to figure it out, but no one knows for sure, all we know is these asteroids and eruptions did happen but could it had happened before the earth even had life on it yet? could it have happened shortly after a atomosphere was being formed? could it have happened before land ever appeared, or since there was a time during noahs day that all land was underwater almost a year, and the upheavals moved whole mountains, shake rattle and roll mixing up everything disguising real time frames here? all the evidence could of got mixed up in the layers and conveying the idea that they volcanos and asteroid were during the same period as dinos since they appear in same layers.

And scientists agree that continents  move and change and push against each other and push some up while others go down, could this not change the layering system hiding the real time line? When volcanos erupt, earthquakes happen or massive landslides and such could that not also mess up the layering effect of time conveying wrong time sequences? More questions then answers don’t you think.  I do hope you like my dinosaur, I tried to draw and color from memory as I said I am still learning and practicing.

Good bye all, thanks for visiting.

peace

PEACE,  aw that elusive thing people have strived for milliniums. this peace, it is so rare no one really understands what it is. The united nations is described as an instrument to achieve peace in the world, in 1986 they declared that year the year of peace and security, yet what is peace? who actually experiences it as it was meant to be?

most would define it as no more wars. But I ask you if all the armies went home and all guns put up in the sheds would then peace be ours? How do we acheive this elusive thing called peace? will the united nations achieve it? will the political rulers achieve it, will the religious rulers achieve it, will free enterprise achieve it?

is peace only absence of war? would not peace be an absence of violence and force of every kind? what is violence? a dictionary I read said it is the violation of the rights of another. who decides what rights we have, us? God? the state?

Jesus spoke about a peace he leaves with us, happy are the peaceable, those who pursue peace. These who like jesus do not ever initiate force against another. who would benefit from this peace? everyone, who would profit from peace? everyone. who hates peace? those who profit from war. who profit from war? few do, who is harmed by wars? everyone else.

list of wars is almost endless, war on drugs, war on poverty, war on obesity, war on cancer, war on illiteracy, war on terrorism, war on _______ fill in the blank. man’s whole existance has been nothing but war. wars to spread democracy, war is peace, that contradiction that seems so right in the eyes of so many who do not understand what peace truly is because if they did then ‘war is peace’ would be seen as oxymoronic.

live each day in peace, with your neighbors, with your boss, with your family, practice peace, pursue it, each day practice it and as you do it the more you will see peace is the answer to problems not war. you wont be so quick to exclaim “there ought to be a law” “tax it” “send in the troops.”

check out this link especially the article on africa. after I read this it just made my blood boil. I mean literally boil. indignation or disgust just doesn’t describe how I felt about the injustice commited here. imagine if you will If your desperate for some kind of income generation and you make a deal with another country (simply because if you do it domestically other countries won’t buy your stuff) to give you loans to build infrastructure, refineries, and other things you will not use for yourself or your people. the other country who gave you the loan will benefit and use it only, then on top of that you have to pay that money back with interest how would that make you feel? or more simply if I gave you a loan to build a house I will live in then you still have to pay me back with interst how would that strike you? words do not describe how this all makes me feel. how about you?
