low carb dieting

How is everyone today? I want to discuss something, we as a society are obessed with diets. Why? could it be because we are having health issues we cant seem to get a handle on? could it be because we are tired of being sick and tired?

I have a history of diets that would fill a book. I did hte low caloire diets the most. low fat then low carb diets.  A friend of mine as we speak is doing semi starvation diet, and I know what the end result will be, and it wont be pretty. Anyway this is experience and research talking.

I decided I had to do something, I know forcing my body to go without macronutrients it cries for wouldnt work, as my body is determined to survive (a good thing by the way) just frustrating when your obese and tired. I thought about it for a while, mulled over what I knew, what I did not know, and decided. I am going low carb but with a twist.

I will make sure to eat some so called bad carbs ketogenic diets avoid like the plague. What carbs? well let me see, oat bran cereal? a tablespoon of raw honey? a big bowl of strawberries? (they want people to portion control even low carb fruits).  What else? I decided if my body wants it I will give it, like a raw potatoe with mineral salt when I am craving crunchy carb with salt.

I have been following this over a month and I am reporting some interesting observations. one is I listened to my body (as a example one day) and was really hungry for some rice, beans, meat and cheese and salad, so I ate a bowl of it, and drank some pop ( I had been following it for about 3 weeks and not having alot of cravings for carbs) and did you know I did not much of appetite the rest of the day? I was absolutly not hungry? many people who follow low carb find when they eat carbs they cant stop eating the rest of the day.

even I found myself needing to eat constantly when I eat alot of carbs in one setting. but no, not this time. anyway that was a few days ago and the past couple of days I have had little to no appetite for carbs. In fact I am not waking up hungry like a wolf. LOL. Anyway I feel more refreshed in the morning usually I am dragging. weird. I am also not hungry even as I type this and do not feel shaky, foggy or lightheaded or weak. Hum interesting.

But anyway I am finding that carbs are not bad, they are just no appropriate if you having some health issues with it. And I am wondering if low carb diets dont have to be a permanet diet to better your health and lose weight (not sure if I lost any but I sure do feel better) if all you have to do is go low carb to heal your body so it can handle glucose better from whole high quality carbs like fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains and beans.

For one thing if your insulin levels are always to high day or night, (higher than naturally they would be otherwise) because those cells are avoiding the sugar dont want it for whatever reason (but are still straving however because they  are empty and need energy hence the hypoglycemia symptoms we all seem to have?)Then it makes sense to get that insulin down, and not jsut to burn fat either, to get the leptin message through to the brain? once the brain realizes your very fat (otherwise it would of never made you eat the house down everyday) it can send the signal to eat less?

well I am seeing that happening gradually. I have not only lost cravings for alot of carbs, (still have a small amount and it takes only a small amount to quiet it) but finding I am going longer and longer between meal before I get hungry or and food desire.

Or the fat cells main job may have not been just storage of fat, its job could of been there to sweep up all the sugar that is floating around and not going anywhere and is damaging the body cells with all that glycation. And its job could of also been to recycle cholesterol that gets damaged via the same mechnisms and itself could be getting damaged and thus must increase in number (you get fatter) to handle the load, many cells make the load lighter and less damaging?

Just some ideas here, so if you cannot handle alot of sugar (carbs) then what is a body to do for energy? fat. not only is fat used for energy it is used for rebuilding the cells damaged parts. Interesting, the substance so maligned by the world is actually what is going ot heal us? fat takes longer to oxidize (as anyone who left a stick of real butter on the counter finds out) and doesn’t interfere with insulin leptin signaling.

do you suppose the medical establishment knows this or do you suppose they are like the average human not sure of anything?  I will report back more findings as I preceed. nothing like having a diet that actually decreases appetite. when I was low caloring dieting (weight watchers was once I did) I was constantly hungry over time that hungry grew, my running suffered. my energy levels suffered and after a about 3 months I could not stand the fake famine anymore and binged and ate the whole planet.

Never again, now when I hear health gurus tout anything requiring you to suffer, (pain is a signal tothe body something is a miss, a threat to survival) cant be right. so far so good with this diet, in fact I am  starting to get mildly hungry. But not sure what I am hungry for yet.

What do you all think? Here is a theory I have, if you eat low carb that gives the body a chance to heal from all the damage from a junky food diet, or weight loss dieting history, and a low quality diet longterm? so if that is hte case maybe quality carbs will eventually be okay once this healing is over. But how to tell if that is the case? when do I know when to eat them again? I figure my body my appetite and my cravings (as long as craving is for fruit veggies whole grains and beans) will tell me. YOu think?

Well just some musing and sharing today. thanks for reading.

vitad3 update

Hi there everyone beautiful person out there, this is my update, as you know I have been trying to follow a fairly slow carb diet (which I am enjoying more than I thought) secondly I have been dosing with vitad3 gels with wool oil, okay when I started this whole thing I started out at 40,000 iu working down over several months this past year or so, (as you can see above if you can read it why these dosages seem okay for me) but several times after I start to see results and feel so much better sleeping better reduced apetite for high sugary foods go down, and more energy and less fuzzy fog etc I lower the dose so I don’t over do it, well every time I did after a few weeks the symptoms start to return and I have to up it again for a couple of weeks to see the symptoms abate (I did this about 3 times) so now I am back at 25,000 iu, per day, 5000 per day was not enough, too low for maintenance, 10,000 also was too low, I took this dosage for a couple of weeks and seen no improvement.

I have been dosing in the 20,000 iu range for about 2 weeks or so and I am starting to feel so much better. my appetite has normalized (don’t need to constantly munch) I sleep through the night again without the hunger or nervousness of low blood sugar symptoms even tho on paper I do not have hypoglycemia.

my periods are starting to normalize (until I started to eat a high soy product I did not know I was eating, I cannot handle even a hint of soy itmesses up my periods makes them last longer, heavier, more crampy and pms is worse as well) so I have reduced that, flaxseed and it’s oil does the same thing.  But my mood is better too. I am starting to have a training effect, improvments in stamina, breathing and etc when I exercise. I do hope you all can read those notes I scanned, tried to get a copy into a word processing document but it only pasted jibberjabber language.

enjoy. oh here is a picture of what is happening as of now,

Godsownersmanual 006

can you believe it is almost april?  SUCKS!!!! why does winter always want to hang on so long and summer want to be so cold like last year was?

winter, what I have learned and progress

gardenplans 026

winter in my backyard, or front which ever you prefer. at least the early short january thaw which came early and melted everything.  Novemeber fought off sinus infections, the whole month needed anitbitics started to feel better and then I was down again feeling like I dont know what, lightheaded, faint, headachy, the runs, weak, sleepy all the time, humm what is going on here, sinus congestion problems but no infection.

I was thinking to my self what the tarnation is going on here?, I am eating better taking my vita supplements vitad3, exercising (have had energy to do so regularly) clearer minded and then this. could this have been a healing crisis? it lasted 2weeks then gone as quickly as it came it faded away. thank goodness.

now for what I learned in relation to diet, exercise, physiology, chemistry etc, one, weight reducing diets kill by degree. two, low carb diets, low cal diets, low fat diets, exercise for weight loss kill by degrees without you even realizing it right away. three, the more diets you do and the more weight loss you have had, weight up weight down, rinse and then repeat, the closer to death you are. while your breathing and working and doing your thing, your dying and don’t even see it.

Four, the medical community sees metabolic syndrome, type 2, type 3 diabetes, plaque buildup, high cholesterol, hypertension, as diseases of obesity. obesity is considered a moral weakness of inability to eat less and exercise more and thus is not a disease thus the doctor is not responsible for the poor results of their treatment.

Five,  the treatments given by doctors and other professionals to cure these diseases is diet and exercise. If one loses even 10 percent of their weight they improve all the parameters of these diseases. sound familiar?

Six, you can lose this 10 percent and still be obese. humm something sounds fishy here.

Seven, that if you eat all your fruits and veggies and eat as recommended by the “experts” (you all know how I feel about “experts” right?) you don’t need supplements. sound familiar? I learned that yes you do need supplementation, sometimes pretty heafty amounts when your fighting heavy duty health condtions like obesity metabolic syndrome etc.

Eight, Doctors do not have all the answers and sometimes refuse to allow new information and experiences to expand their mind when what was believe to be true is found not to be.

Ninth, I also learned that I have to take my health into my own hands, do my research, learn from my experiences and the expeirences of others, use my reasoning skill based on all that I learned about How we are designed by Jehovah, what happened in my life, what researchers have said that are not listend to by the mainstream everyone. I have learned to take everything I hear on the news, in papers, on the internet, etc, with a grain of salt with a i will put it on the back burner because I do not believe what I heard and dont trust it.

I  learned too, our bodies are very well designed by Jehovah, despite our sinful imperfection our bodies work pretty much like they should (except for serious genetic defects some people get which I feel sorry for them that really disable them)when doctors, us, people in general, do not understand something the body does they try to force it to change to a preconceived idea of what it should be. basically they treat symptoms. which has its place don’t get me wrong, sometimes treating hte symptoms allows you time (and some comfort too) to find the culprit and work on it. It also allows a better quality of life if your unable to fix the underlying problem.

eleventh, I learend our bodies have two goals, one is keeping you alive and upright, second your wellbeing. It turns out that what we may describe as auto immune disease, metabolic disease, obesity, food addictions (I love this one) is actually the body working here to keep you alive and upright. The body will literally rob from one part of our body to supply another with nutrients missing in your diet in sufficient amounts. arthritis, could it be the body is stealing the sulfer from your joints to supply the heart and brain?or stealing from the intestines to get at the sulfer? or your stomach? hence all the stomach problems that doctors give immune suppressing drugs? or the brain, is it so deficient in nutrients it has to form plaques on it’s neurons to protect them from the toxic enviroment of oxygen, sugar laden blood?  Yet doctors treat it like it is a disease not a survival mechism and try to suppress it.

what about obesity and it’s other symptoms?I learned that all this is a symptom of malnutrition. if you don’t eat enough food for purposes of losing weight or any reason really, your body cannabalises itself, proteins for one, fat, water, glycogen stores empty out etc cortisol and adrenalin is released, if these things are not replaced adequatly due to undereating the stress continues and if you add exercise you just added gasoline to the fire.

What does all of this mean then? Not exacly sure, but one thing for sure the trail has veered off to another direction for me. now I understand why diets failed me. it does not address the underlying problem. now I understand why when you start a new diet and stick to it for a while you start to feel good have more exercise and seem to do well for a while even losing some weight. a reducing diet which ever you choose wiht exercise especially is a stress. what does the body do in reponse to stess? it releases adreanlin and cortisol  cortisol is a feel good lets get up and dance hormone.

It is also a antiinflammation hormone too. now I understand when your aches and pains stop hurting it is not because your getting healthier but because you added a stress the body has to go deal with. your body can only handle so many stressors at once so it priotises, remember its first job is keeping you alive. so now it has to put other healing and repairing jobs on hold. now I also understand why the desire to eat sugary stuff and overeat on them is delayed making one think their diet is working. these are all false sensations of success.

This is why you get a healing crisis once you fix the underlying problem, your body was so focused for so long (if your health problems and obesity was long standing)on keeping you alive it could not afford to use any nutrients or didnt have it available to deal with toxins and damage to cells and give full repair. it could  not raise your metabolism or temp or motivate you to exercise and live life, it was too strained keeping you alive.  Understand what I mean?

this is what I was experiencing, it lasted so long because there was alot to fix and I  had all the nutrients, caloires protein fats etc it needed for full repair and to fight off virus and bacteria it had to put up with (keeping them at bay but not really getting rid of them hence you get sick, better, repeat, because the underlying infection or problem is not solved just held in check for a whilethus getting sinus infections over and over and over again over many years.) hence now because I did not listen to doctors anymore, listen to “experts” anymore but decided to do my own research and listen to alternative ideas I was able to understand what was going on. I still listen to my doctor on so many things I do appreciate all thehelp they have given me in the past with my problems (chronic sinus infections, chronic broncitis, anxiety attacks, headaches that goe on and on for months, sleeping problems etc) after all I realize they dont’ know everything either and are learning themselves.

All my problems were because of malnorishement. I am under the impression that I do not make vitad3 in the skin. i did all the other things like eat better,  plenty of sun exposure without sunscreen taking glucose tolerance supplements, lowering my carbs as much as I could comfortably do, taking immune stimulating herbs and other things experiementing with different herbs and things, something was missing. once I had been on vitad3 for many, many months then it started to click. I was finally showing some really cool progress. it is like vitad3 was the switch that made everything else turn on.

Ithink I will post my progress in another post to avoid a too long post. thanks all for reading down to this point. posting here, posting there, posting everywheres, posting up /down on a trotting horse, posting on the posting. la la la la tripping over my post. lol sorry just being silly tonight. need to go to bed. I am thinking about doing a post later on about dinosaurs anyone here like dinosaurs?

thanks a bunch you silly whipper snappers for reading all the way down this very long slope of post.

vitamin d3 and glucose handling

IMG_0587

hi there, I was just bored trying to figure out how to illustrate in a drawing what i wanted to show, but couldn’t figure out how to do it in a way you would be able to understand, some of my drawings can be a bit messy and disorganized, like my house is.

anyway, you know how you spend so many years of your life trying to solve a problem and you try one thing then another until after a few decades you start to wonder if you will ever find the solution to a serious problem your dealing with? Then each time you think you found it and it seems to be working then it doesn’t? you know how dissappointing that is. You look for answers and try different suggestions from the experts who swear it should work, but it never does and then they accuse you of not trying hard enough or cheating or whatever? And it doesn’t matter what the problem is either.

then you find something that actually starts to work out, it seems to be consistant for a while, and then in your mind you get a sense of relief, and excitement, but then your excitement is squashed by the realization what if this is just another fluke? You examine the solution and all it’s parts, the problems it has solved up to that point and wonder did I find it? then you look at yourself and say don’t get to excited yet, give it time.

Well I decided to try supplementation with mega doses of vitad3, thinking if I am deficient in this despite all efforts to get it up naturally through eating properly and getting plenty of sunshine, I decided to it in mega doses, about 40,000 iu at first for about a month then dropped it down to about 20,000 iu per day for about 2 months then down to 10,000 iu for a couple of weeks, now that I am getting plenty of sun I stopped the pills. I mean according to the research this should work for all that stuff that comes with metabolic syndrome.

Does it? what say I?  I mean it couldn’t solve this complex of a problem can it? after all that is too simplistic right? well here we go I have been sleeping through the night now for about 2 or 3 weeks for a change, can’t believe it. havent done this in 10 years or more. I always would have the symptoms of low blood sugar in the night (despite a normal glucose tolerance test)have to get up, eat in order to go back to sleep. I mean 2 or 3 am  night after night for years is a bit annoying don’t you think? It was downright frustrating and enraging, I would be so tired and so hungry and jittery like crazy I would probably of bitten someone’s head off if you said something stupid to me at that time, lol.

I have not had to do this now for almost 3 weeks. I am like this is not a fluke is it? And cravings for junk food? almost gone, sugar cravings almost gone, fewer and fewer epidsodes of jitteriness, cravings for sugar,(except I do get a little during pms time that lasts a couple of days which is still alot less then before) and yes I can now get a little hungry during the day and not eat anything because I am not hungry enough and have that little bit hunger shut off and I thus can fast a little bit comfortably, I mean really? where have you been all my life you wonderful sunshine vitamin? why are doctors so brainwashed in the old ideas? well we won’t go there right now.

other benefits? more energy, not as headachy as before (which was probably the glucose drops and adrenalin response)better exercise response, my response to exercise in gaining in stamina, muscle strength, etc was minimal, now it is like I am not working as hard and getting a very good response.  Coincidence? I think not. Being overwieght I have to be careful to avoid injury from using the treadmill, going for walks and using the weights. I used it today wearing my gorilla feet (fila four toes) since my treadmill has such a good cushion I want to protect my knees from to much cushion stress, and did some weights, despite pmsing, which usually makes me kind of sluggish and not able to exercise much.

my knees were bothering me last week and not sure why so I figured the cushion of the treadmill plus my really air cushion shoes may have been to much or it could of been the weights not sure. so apparently vitad3 is just to vital for glucose handling to treat it lightly and doctors have not gotten the memo yet.

So why is it so important then? well apparently if your glucose setpoint is set to high due to resistance at the brain blood brain barrier normal amounts of glucose can’t get through and your brain registers it as starvation, and sends signals to raise sugar levels via adranline (especially if insulin levels are too high)and cortisol and glucagon, but as the concentration of the blood gets higher then some sugar can make it through via saturation, but this fix is temporary and very damaging over long term (hence glycation, fat accumulation, pancreatic damage and fat accumulation on liver and heart and stomach.) hyperglycemia is compensation for this resistance, hence sugar in the blood for too long is damaging so your body uses fat cells to proliferate to suck it up and produce fat to get it out  of the blood as fast as possible since the liver can’t keep up and the muscles cells can’t use it as they are resistant (because of lack of vitad3 and cholesterol sulfate)which drives the glucose below setpoint (even tho in the normal healthy range by the numbers)the brain registers this as low blood sugar since it aint getting any, hence the cycle repeats. you get hungry for high gi foods to drive it up really fast and high so the brain gets it before it all gets converted to fat, and of course the cells are forced to use fat for fuel since insulin is not needed for them to access it, and if the insulin levels are high the fat cells do not release and hence the cells need a advanced surge of fat before you eat, hence high triglcerides when insulin levels are low, with me so far?

then the fat cells have to proliferate even more as each cell is hindered by their lack of enough cholesterol sulfate, vitad3 and other nutrients, to handle all that sugar. sugar is very toxic in large amounts it sticks to everything and reacts to oxygen, it is like gasoline.fat is like oil, or diesel, fructose like rocket fuel.

so fat cells also become damaged over time and thus you get even fatter but this is getting to detailed just suffice to say without enough fat soluable vitamins, and cholesterol sulfate in our systems we are doomed to suffer a long, slow, agonizing death. not unless you can abort it by correcting the underlying deficienies.

so my guess is I have lowered my glucose setpoint, a good thing, and need less sugar in my blood for the brain to get it’s juice it needs. Sure is nice to be alot more calmer and less hungry everyday, so now I am giving it to my little dog who is fat to see if it will help her too. time will tell.

thank you

Howdy there friends, this post is to thank people for following my blog, don’t think I didn’t notice it, lol. glad people find some of my stuff interesting enough to take a look, heaven knows I am a pretty boring person overall, but anyway thanks.

little update, I found my supplementation to be alot more helpful then I thought, I am starting to sleep through the night, not waking up in the middle of the night with the jitters, and extreme hunger, my low carb diet is like wow a breeze, my appetite has toned down quite a bit, gradually I am feeling better (not feeling like I am on the verge of the flu or something) and it does’t take a lot of food to feel satiated my meals sizes have reduced for the most part without any effort on my part. dont feel the need to eat alot of sweet stuff, hopfully this trend will continue and I won’t suffer another dissappointment like the quadzillion I suffered in the past when i thought I was on the right path.

this also reminds me of something, so much I hear about how vita min and supplements have little benefit and you can get everything you need from food, WRONG! I realize they are very wrong about this, especially if your suffering a chronic health condition like lupus, or metabolic syndrome or diabetes heart disease or arthritis and the like, supplementation does work, which is probably why they discourage the use, considering who owns the medical community (rockerfellers for one) who feel there are to many people on this planet and we americans live to long (to long in that we collect what we paid in in retirement money they would like to keep for themselves).

And this explains codex almentarius, if supplements didn’t work do you think they would work so hard and spend so much of our money (oops their money) on getting them restricted to non potent amounts? creeps, one thing I can’t stand are lying hypocritical bigoted creeps, sorry about my language, had to vent, lol. after all rockerfellers are behind the heavy vaccination program in africa, probably america too, which sterilizes the women there. many who take them abort as well.

thanks again folks,

vita d 3, diabetic support pack,

hi there everyone, how is the weather where you are today? well I am reporting here tht my low carb diet is much better, easier to stick to, my cravings for high sugar foods like gone, this past week I have been sleeping through the night without having to get up to eat to calm my insides and get back to sleep which I have been doing for many years now despite all my attempts at dietary and exercise changes. this supplement pack and vitd3 really works! amazing. I just can’t get over the reduction in my symptoms. I just wish doctors would advocate vitad3/serious supplementation of vita min and others, for obese people who suffer serious health problems like hypertension, sleep problems, depression and the like.  sometimes I wonder if they are really interested in healing people rather then just treating them requiring constant monitering and refill of prescriptions.

I know they have to be careful not to piss off the drug companies or rehabilitation companies so they dont lose thier license. if they did alot of companies would go out of busines, but that is no reason to keep people sick. maybe they should go out of business we need healthy people to make a healthy world and with that comes innovations and better products and services that can replace those companies. profit should never take precendent over human health and welfare. agree?

it is hard to believe increasing ones nutrtional status can have such profound affects, it is wonderul, in fact I feel the urge to get back into my exercise routine I used to do. wish I would of knew this long ago. I have less sleepiness during the day as well, my sinus post nasal drip has reduced considerably, headaches hardly get them anymore,(well I have to give one doctor some credit) many years ago when I was having headaches he advocated vita min supplement to help it,should of took that as a clue. I can be a duh sometimes.

anyway it sure feels good to well  feel good for a change.

well taw taw for now.

howdy powdies

howdy,

low carb diet update, I have been following this diet pretty good for 19 weeks now, here is a report, most days I manage to eat pretty healthy carbs only alone with my normal protein/fat combo. a few days I was eating lower quality carbs and my total carbs for the day was a bit elevated, I was hungry for carbs, then my appetite for carbs would drop like a rock,  and my total caloires would drop also, it is like for a few days the carb diet is working well, staying around 25 percent, sometimes 27 or 28 and occassionally 30 percent of total caloires, depending on my hunger, food availability and cravings. then all of a sudden I get some cravings for lower quality food like ice cream which I make sure to buffer with alot of fat and protein added, like peanut butter.

for three days a few weeks ago, I was craving barbecue corn chips, weird I know, even when I wasn’t following any diet seldom did I crave that! but I always ate it with alot of nuts too so as to tone down the carbs in the food (even tho the labels says the fat caloires far outnumber the carbs in it.) but then that craving went away and I was back on track. my percentage of carbs went up a little on those days to about 30 percent.

my periods have regulated, gotten lighter, less pms, like 10 percent of what it used to be, but still dealing with sleeplessness at night, sleep a few hours wake up and it is like my insides won’t calm down for some reason. sometimes I go to bed tired out but then my insides take a while to calm down, it is weird, always had this problem for many years, this diet is not causing it.

now that I am in the midst of menopause it has gotten worse, really weird, sleeping thorugh the night seems to be long standing challenge. this explains why I seldom have alot of energy during the day, I do tend to do better i summer then winter. probably lack of sunshine, heat and our bodys are trying to conserve anyway who knows.

I am wondering when I can increase quality carbs, how do I know my insulin resistance has completly reversed? I am guessing if I lose alot of fat weight, stop having bad nights like this, and can sleep much better that might be my cue to go ahead and up my quality carbs to maybe 50/50.

hopefully it will get better, I wonder if vitamin supplement would help the lack of energy and inability to sleep well. any suggestions?

wow, getting results already.

Hi there, wanted to share something that has intrigued me, I have been doing alot of walking latly (for some odd reason I cannot stand still) and one thing I noticed, I feel like I am standing up better (not crouched over crushing my lungs?) standing up straight was difficult I always ended up leaning a bit forward as I walk, and another thing my ankles arent hurting. they always hurt when I walk alot, my stride is more effcient I walk faster without added effort it is as if my legs are going more straight or something . it is weird,

another thing too is I find if my carb intake is below 25percent of total caloires that I wake about 4 am and can’t sleep, hypo symptoms, and I have to get up and eat something, but if I keep it around 25 percent, mostly quality starches (fruit was not cutting it for me) I sleep straight through and don’t wake until around 6 or so.

ther is really something to this s/low carb way, wish I would of done this long ago. oh yea, I am finding I lost all munchies and cravings of junky foods, even pop doesn’t appeal like it used to, it has never happened like this to me before. after 35 years of dealing with obesity and metabolic syndrome trying to follow the “experts” advice only to be dissappointed and feeling like I am a failure that it was my fault, rather I realize it is the wrong information for me,

thanks for all my followers, I don’t feel like I am typing into the wind where no one can hear me. I hope my posts are not boring.
